Commission may be calculated in different ways. Ask for the exact percentage or fixed amount, what it is applied to, when it is deducted and whether any other charges can apply. Ask for worked examples in writing.
Check the full payment terms
Clarify who receives payment, when funds are transferred, what records you will receive, how cancellations or refunds are handled, and whether there are payment-processing or travel-related costs. Never rely on vague verbal assurances.
Compare like with like
A lower headline commission is not necessarily better if important services are excluded or other fees apply. Compare the complete written package and the level of control you retain.
